The Nekrova High-Velocity Rifle has high damage, but a slow rate of fire and reload. It's weight restricts mobility and it holds 6 bullets in a default magazine with another 18 spare bullets. The bolt-action mechanic prevents you from switching to another weapon after shooting it, it does not restrict the usage of grenades. It can generally take down someone with two shots, or one shot and a short burst from another weapon. Due to it's high TTK, it's low accuracy while moving and lower movement speed, it will usually lose a 1v1 CQC fight, unless the enemy is already tagged which would make the HVR 762 a one-shot weapon again. Against the popular believe, it does not use calibre .50, but instead high velocity 7.62 ammunition. It resembles the real life Accuracy International AS-50, with the exception of being bolt-action as opposed to the semi-auto AS-50.

Against the N-HVR 762 Users:

Try to sneak up behind them or run close to them and kill them with a close range gun. This will allow them to have struggle getting a hit on you. One should note that the H-HVR 762 is still a potent weapon in CQC, it is advised to kill them as fast as possible in order to avoid getting hit by the 850 front up damage.

Against vehicles:

It is generally not effective against vehicles. Most likely you will find yourself wasting a load of ammo and time trying to destroy one, shooting at vehicles with the HVR is almost always pointless, unless the car is burning or the sniper has a lot of time.

Highly recommended, very useful for the additional accuracy. Worsens the CQC a bit but still a great asset, especially good to tag enemies behind cover. Also makes accuracy while moving in marksman mode significantly better. The higher the HS the better.

The Nekrova High-Velocity Rifle has great accuracy and unsurpassed stopping power, though the weight of the weapon hampers mobility. Calls from politicians to ban the weapon on humanitarian grounds led last year to three high-level assassinations. The shooters were never found. Only use it if you can't afford or don't have access to moddable variants, as the HVR 762 benefits a lot from mods.
